Downloaded the PhotoCaddy iTouch/iPhone application today and boy is this a handy little application. The app puts a lot of helpful information at your fingertips for every shooting situation you would find yourself in.
The information is divided into four categories: Landscapes, People, Cities and Outdoors. For each of those categories you’ll find between 10 and 16 situations to choose from. Each situation gives you “Tips & Suggestions”, “Typical Settings” and the ability to add your own notes.
The latter feature I find to be the icing on the cake for what this app does. The ability to have all the helpful hints is great, but to add in your notes on how your own equipment performs for that situation is of the utmost importance.
Finally, the app has a section called “Essentials” that gives a great overview of many camera features and accessories that many people who are new to D/SLRs would find helpful.
Bottom Line: This is a great app for anyone who is new to photography and has a camera that allows you to select Manual, Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority. If you have a pocket camera and never have a desire to go off ‘automatic mode’ then don’t bother with this application.
Happy shooting!

Hi there Michael,
As the developer for PhotoCaddy, just wanted to say I'm glad you're enjoying it! I've got plenty of new features planned, so stay tuned.
