American Robin (Turdus migrators) eating a worm.

Robin eating a worm.

Getting this photo had gotten me really excited. I’ve been wanting to get a Robin pulling a worm out of the ground for years. I’ve even gone as far as thinking of ways to ‘plant’ worms. Is that cheating?

As much as I enjoyed getting the photo, I’m bummed that the grass is to tall. It not only blocks the worm, but cuts into the bird itself.

So, today’s tip: Mow your lawn! If you can control the surrounding of where you will be shooting, then be sure to do it before you spend the time waiting for that perfect shot ;)

I understand your frustration (from a photographer’s eye), however, it’s STILL an incredible shot!! Good job!
